ICRS WRITING COMPETITION JANUARY 2013

ICRS is an international Ph.D. program located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, that is interreligious and interdisciplinary. The vision of ICRS is to be an outstanding, internationally respected graduate program and research center in interreligious studies. Since its inception five years ago, ICRS has been committed to conducting research on interreligious, interfaith and intrafaith initiatives and social justice. For that matter, ICRS is now pleased you to invite papers on the theme of :
"HISTORICAL dan CULTURAL PRESENCE OF SHIAS IN SOUTHEAST ASIA :"
Looking at Future Trajectories
We will be most interested in papers that deal with topics related, but not limited, to the following :

1. Shia Roles in the Development of Islam
2. Cultural and Religious Traditions of Shia
3. History of Shia Islam and Its Futures
4. Roots of Religious Conflict between Shia and Sunnis
5. Intrafaith Harmony between Shias and Sunnis

Submitted papers should be focused on the Southeast Asia region, but analitycal connection with other regions connected to Southeast Asia will be accepted.

Paper Submission Guidelines :

We accept original research papers with a lenght of 15-20 pages, double spacing, using Times New Roman and font size 12. Recently published papers in 2012 can be permitted, but must be accompanied by full information on the publication. Papers must be submitted in English with complete references and biographical information of the author.
Papers should be submitted by email to : shiaconference@icrs.or.id and elis236.andri@yahoo.com, no lated than January 31, 2013. Please write in the email subject heading : “Shias in Southeast Asia Writing Competition”. Winners will receive the following :

• 1st Prize : IDR4.500.000,00
• 2nd Prize : IDR2.500.000,00

Note : The organizers may reserve the right to utilize the Winner’s papers for the publication of an Edited Volume on the subject. Other papers may be considered to be published in the Edited Volume.
